Kumihimo, the braiding of silk cord, has been practised at this Ueno workshop for 360 years. On a private tour, limited to six guests a day, you see each step from dyeing to weaving in a space normally closed to the public.
With master artisans you then make a braided accessory of your own in the Maruyatsu-gumi pattern.
