Kamakura-bori carving goes back 800 years to the Kamakura period, when the great wood sculptor Unkei made an original small plate. You work in the gallery studio of his 29th-generation descendant.
You carve a small plate, which is then finished in authentic Japanese lacquer, a rare material with domestic circulation below 2%.
